NUMB?!?!? No way I would have done it if that were the case! I could not imagine being conscious while the doc knocked your teeth out for hours.

I got the special IV with liquid Valium and Demorral. The first and last thing I said when they stuck the IV in my arm was, "Wow, that was fast." then I was knocked out for hours. lol

And Tylenol? I couldn't imagine taking just regular tylenol for that kinda pain either. Although now, years later, and having given birth by cesarean, I realize oral surgery was just a minor scratch. :eek:

Wuss. :p I had 2 extracted, one on each side, one upper, one lower, and all I got was a few shots of Novocaine and the nitrous. Took him like an hour to do both and sew me up. I sat there and jammed on the walkman while he did his thing.

The pain afterwards sucked though. I had pain from the lower extraction for 2 weeks. I too made the mistake of drinking something cold too soon. Thankfully I had some left over painkillers to take the edge off.

Smoking was pretty interesting though since you can't drink anything through a straw for 48 hours. ;)

I had all four taken out at the same time. I don't recall any major issues arising from the surgery, so I guess it went alright (no infections, etc).

I am somewhat phobic about needles and cannot watch the injection. This really sucks as I will burn off any painkillers quickly, be it oral or intravenous, so they keep sticking a needle in my mouth. I get nitrous before I get stuck orally or get knocked out, depending on how involved it will be. I think I got knocked out for the extractions.

For some strange reason i have never had any problems with my (4) wisdom teeth :D.

I guess that the old adage "with age comes wisdom" must be true ;).

My "surgery" was wasnt bad at all. no infections or anything, now im eating whatever i want, most of the stitches have disolved exept for one of the tops.
