I have a good friend in Kansas City who wants to send me some of their famous BBQ sauce, she is unsure if it's alright to send this through the mail to me because of restrictions, can anyone tell me if it's on the forbidden list? or where to go and look up on the Internet. (im in Canada)

You can pretty much ship anything anywhere as long as you follow "the rules". Using a company like us, or Fedex, or UPS, makes it a snap and will walk you through the process.

What is the name of the sauce? Are you sure you can't buy it here? I know of specialty food stores that carry sauces of all varieties and from all regions/countries.

I have to say as a Customs Officer I've NEVER allowed BBQ sauce to go through. If I ever get a shipment of good BBQ sauce, chocolate chip cookies or any potato sausage I always "confiscate" it for further examination. Then, of course, I send an appology saying it was determined that the goods were, in fact, NOT illegal but unfortuantly all of the product was destroyed during testing.
