Who`s nicked my money??????

Grrrr....!!!!
I`ve just checked my bank account online. Someone has taken £850 (about $1500) out of my account over the last three days at cash machines. One transaction a day. B@$T@RD$!!!!!!!!!!!!
I`ve cancelled my card and an investigation will commence. The lady at the bank said once the bank is satisfied they are fraudulant withdrawals, the money will be recredited to my account. Thats a big relief, but even still....F`ing B@$T@RD$!!!!
And the chances of finding who did it....zero
Therefore the chances of a conviction....zero

Some do, some don`t. I guess the peeps clever enough to clone cashpoint cards know which ATMs to use.
I`m still ticking about it.

The annoying thing about these crimes is the bank will refund your moeny and they *they* become the victim, then they usually drop it because it's not worth their time to get the money back. My CC got ripped for $3k and the CC company refunded the money and just walked away. It was never investigated.

You know what police officers are like, untrustworthy etc etc etc.

Jack, I'm sorry that happened to you. But if you think the criminals are smart enough to find ATMs without cameras, you may be pleasantly suprised.

Ok...I`ve calmed somewhat now. No more ranting or swearing.
Went to the bank. Apparantly I`m the 5th person with a cloned card this w/e. I thought crime didn`t pay. They said they are happy the theft is genuine and I should get all the money back in a couple of weeks.
Had to go to the local cop shop to report it and get a crime number for the bank. That was interesting - being on the wrong side of the counter, giving someone work, not actually taking it myself.
I am still mad about it. At having someone nick MY money, but moreso I think because it happened to me. I feel a bit of an idiot for being done.
So to turn this into a positive thread, some advice:-
1)If you use cash points be careful of only one machine working . The bank I used had two ATMs. One had a sign on it saying it was out of order. Infact it was working fine, but the scum had put the sign up to direct people to the other one. That one had the card reader fitted.
2)Look above the ATM. Either on the ceiling if is in a lobby or on the machine its self. If its near a wall, check the wall. If there is anything that looks like it could be a camera, don`t use the ATM. There are cameras on the market now that are so small you would not notice them onless you looked hard. These apparently transmit real time to a laptop. Thats how the scum got my pin number it would seem.
3)Check the slot where you put the card in. If it dosen`t look right - don`t use it. Thats where they (the scum) tape the card reader and it records everything on the magnetic strip. Thats how they (the scum) cloned my card.
4) Check your account often. I checked mine on the Saturday at the ATM. Thats when it was cloned. I checked it again on the internet on Mon evening and thats when I saw the missing money. If I hadn`t of checked it the scum would`ve carried on taking the dosh.
5) The bloke at the bank said the scum mostly work at night or at the w/e,because there will be no bank staff around. They sometimes put up a ladder (to stick their cameras up) and make it look like there`s decorating work going on in the lobby.

Just passing these points on to help prevent anyone else becoming the victim.
