    Fort Collins, CO

Hey all! Some of you folks will remember me, and the lucky ones will not. ;) But my question today is....... what do you folks that are familier with this city think of it?

The possibility exists that I may move to the US in the not too distant future and I'm not really tied down to anyone one location. I was doing some research on the internet and found this place. It seems like a real nice town, but of course I have never been there and wonder what it is like in regards to work, housing, things to do?

Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

But it looks like a really nice place from the Google search I did. Although you only have 4 months without snow!!!!

It is a wonderful place to live. You are close enough to the big city (Denver is 1 hour to the south), but you still have the feel of the country. The views are amazing, as it is in just about everywhere in Colorado. Ft. Collins has CSU, so you're guaranteed that the city will have enough extra-curricular activites for the younger crowd, but they still respect the small town feel.

I lived in Denver for 7 years and Colorado Springs for 2 years. I will be relocating to the Denver area in the next few months. Good paying jobs (even in LE) and the caliber of people cannot be beat.

You can't beat it for a good family town. Housing is similar across the state right now, in a bit of a slump... but developments are still going up like mad. The great thing about Ft. Collins is the small town atmosphere. Every year they have a lot of festivals and outdoor events that are a blast.

    Hope this helps. Good luck!
Astronomical avatar of the week: The Hourglass Nebula: This formation of gasses was created when a dying star gently ejected its outer layers forming a glowing region of ionized gas as seen in the photo. The remaining core is known as a white dwarf, seen in the center. Our sun will leave a similar corpse behind after expending its nuclear fuel. This nebula is located in the constellation Musca, the fly, visible only in the southern hemisphere.

Yes it sure does help! The plan as it stands now is probably about 2 yrs away. I currently work as a site manager here www.landmarkhomes.ca and of course am interested in the housing market and what jobs are available there.

Also since I am on a LE website I have an interest in that area as well, and would like to explore some opportunities in that realm, probably as a volunteer since I am not a US citizen.

    Keep the comments coming guys!

Certified Florida LEO looking at CO..

Hello to everyone. I am a cerified LEO in Florida and was wondering if someone had any information about what to do if I decided to move to another state...particularly Colorado. I was just there for a vacation and fell in love. If anyone knows about working for the universities there as an LEO I would love to hear about that also. Thank you!

I spent six months there a few years ago. I have nothing bad to say about the place, simply loved it. IMHO, you can't beat the weather, views, or people.
