What are some good colleges/universities down there?

Im thinkin of just joining the USCG Reserves(As Port Security Specialist) and attend a 4yr school(major in Criminal Justice). So far FSU and UCF look pretty interesting, does anybody know the good/bad about those schools? I figure if i went that way Id be getting the best of both worlds, education(and I wouldnt have to pay much), and great experience(plus a extra paycheck :D )

Talk to your parents and schedule a tour of both campuses and come on down.

While your here go to Disney, Universal Studios, the beach, etc.

me and acouple of friends were thinking about doing one next summer. We'll def. be hittin the beach.

Advice for the beach:

1. Get a bit of a tan before coming down. This way you blend in with the locals.

2. Bathing suit (baggies) with NO elastic and you don't wear underwear with your baggies. Not so baggy they show crack, remember just say no.

Now more important things:
Schools call them and make an appointment for a tour. I personally would bring ma and pa. They might be helping you out $ and having them along would be a really good thing.

I am leaving my department for better riches and benefits in the land of florida. My girlfriend is looking for schools down there for her to attend and let me tell you that it is expensive!!!

Your girlfriend might have to pay out of state tuition for 1 year. May need to go to community college or pay the increase. She could come down here get a po box and a FL dl and set up residence here so she would qualify as a FL resident sooner. Not saying that's ethical, but out of state tuition isn't ethical either.

Expensive, depends on where. S. Florida oh yeah! Orlando you can find modestly priced apartments. Tallahassee (seminole country) yeah its expensive also. But, you can live out in rural areas where it not so bad.

In Florida we don't have a state income tax. Don't know if you do in Tn.

What area of Florida are you thinking about? North, Central, South, E. Coast, W. Coast, or Panhandle? I have lived all over this state and maybe can give some insight.
