    Angry What the #@$%*

Some fool ticketed our Ambulance today because we were parked in a fire zone and our wheel was a little maybe an inch on the grass, now what cop in their right mind would do that i ask you, considering we are supposed to park there. Some one must have been bored, what next the fire trucks... oh wait thats right they got one last week. This person must have missed the memo on what a fire truck was or what an ambulance is. It wouldn't be so bad but they are $500 tickets.

I laugh at this on the bottom of emails. It is legally meaningless (much like the term "patent pending").

    Does my bias show here?

One of them got my marked car at court a couple of weeks ago. It's only $20.00, but it's all on me and a number of other cops who got similar tickets. I guess these rocket scientists don't realize that we can write tickets too. As soon as I catch one behind the wheel of a vehicle and observe ANY violation of the law...

Sounds like the security guards at the hospital here. They think they are cops and through authority around, but they CANNOT touch anyone for any reason according to their policy (I applied and got an interview, but declined when I read their policies). I asked the superviser if someone was attacking a nurse, would they intervene, and he relied "We can't." WTH are they there for? I could only come up with a deterrant to mischief.

The only time that this kind of statement is valid is in legally-protected conversations, such as a person under arrest in a police station writing a sealed letter with "Priviledged Information, for my attorney only" written on it.

Posting this to a public forum, though, invalidates any priviledged status, even if protected. If you posted; "I told my lawyer I was guilty" then that conversation loses it's priviledged status.

You got it DC. If parking enforcement agents wish to follow the letter of the law to its extreme , it would be poetic justice for them to have ANY equipment violations on their vehicle.

I carry our state inspection manual with me and EVERYTING in it is enforceable. I don't normally cite for junk hanging from the rear view mirror, but I can . $104.00

In New Orleans they call them the "meter nazis", I've seen them kick the meters to reset them and write out tickets.

If you are suppose to park an ambulance in a fire zone, why would you have to pay the $500 ticket? Was the ticket for the fire zone violation or the wheel on the grass? In any event it sounds like you are saying that the ambulance was legally parked, but still ticketed. Sounds like a simple problem to solve.

There is justice. Recently here in Chicago a news crew followed several meter maids and filmed them parking in handicapped zones. They would then walk to wherever they were assigned to write tickets. When confronted with the footage, these wonderful people acted indignant. The City followed through with days with disciplinary action.

Yup. I agree. I have a parking monitor here that is such a waste of skin. (Yes, I am talking about YOU Linda!!!).... She hates doing anything that I want to give her, and tries to weasel out of everything. We have crossing guards (civilians) in the mornings for schoold kids. When they call in sick, an officer/parking monitor has to fill in. Anyway, I called her one morning to cover a school crossing and she said "I can't do it. I don't have a car" because she didn't want to do it. I just called the Sgt and said "Sir, could you drop off PM29 at the school crossing?" . He responded with a chuckle "Of course, dispatch"... and I got applause over the air from the cops in that area.
Hee hee hee... she never refused me again. :D

There is an older woman who works the meters downtown who occasionally will put quarters in the expired meter rather than write them a ticket, so I guess they aren't ALL bad.
And your whiney *** crybaby excuse would be....
