I dunno, I never liked any Tarantino film, I watched that, seen parts of Resevoir dogs, and tried to watch Inglorious Basterds, but I haven't really liked them, now that one particular scene where they have brett strapped to the chair while Samuel Jackson is rattling off his (mostly fictional) scripture was pretty well done. (I forgot why they killed brett too, maybe i need to watch it again). the "What country are you from?" "what"? WHAT???? WHAT AINT NO COUNTRY I EVER HEARD OF BOY" was good for a laugh. but overall I cant say I enjoyed it

Seriously, I think you have to have worked/lived on the street to appreciate it. My wife didn't get it either, but my old ex partner in uniform and I watched three or four times and roared during the whole thing. We related to the first part when they were going to kill those guys and talking about what a Big Mac was called in France. He and I used to talk about what kind of fertilizer to use in our yards on the way to a murder scene. When Jackson said, "Time to get into character", that was exactly what we did too.

As one of the other guys I worked with in detectives said, I've come across everyone of those characters working the street with the exception of the guy kept in the trunk.

I loved 'Pulp Fiction.' Never worked the street either. . The whole 'wristwatch' backstory. The hitman philosophy discussions (quarter pounder w/ cheese, whether a foot massage was sexual, Samuel Jackson having the 'say what again' discussion with the preppy college kid, then getting talked at the same way by the preppy gourmet coffee Tarantino character - 'Did you see a sign in the front of my house?').

The wannabe robbers discussing how a guy robbed a bank with a cell phone by having someone on the other end say they kidnapped his little girl and would kill her unless the bank gave him all their money. 'Was the little girl okay?' - yup, met that one.

Bruce willis' zero self-esteem wife/gf when he calls her Tulip. 'I like Tulip. Tulip is much better than mongoloid.'

Everyone thought they were either a genius or philosopher. I thought it was hilarious.

Glad you liked it too. I loved the look on Travolta's face when he realized he'd left his weapon on the kitchen counter and Bruce Willis was about to kill him. Travolta played a typical thug, not bright at all, like accidentally killing the kid in the back seat of the car.... My wife just stared at me when I cracked up laughing at that part.

I've met a hundred like the character Samuel L. Jackson played (of varying degrees) that tried to play the philosopher. And the dumb white girl friend of the black gangster, oh yeah.

My favorite line was, "I'm gonna get medieval on yo @ss!"
