Who in here studies martial arts?

Hey guys. Anybody in here study/studied martial arts? And have you ever used your abilities to seriously F*ck somebody up? Whether on or off the job? I wanna get back into it someday but I just don't have the time. Let me know. I studied Jiu-jitsu and a lil' wing chun before. Let me know.

Although Gun Fu is good, I like Mexican Judo the best...

Why would one want to use one's abilities to seriously mess somebody up?

There is a legal and moral obligation to use the least amount of force necessary. I have not looked at your profile so I will guess that you are young. Having ability in the MA's does not mean someone with no formal training can't hand you your rear end.

Fighting should always be a last option. Like Mr Miyage said, "fighting never good, someone always get hurt".

That said, I have studied Aikido, Taekwondo, Krav Maga and a little Hapkido. I also have training in various other systems such as Pressure Point Control Tactics, etc.

I test for Black Belt in TKD this December. If you have any specific questions, ask away.

PS I occasionally practice Hung Chow, but thats a different thread. ;)

I studied Amrican Kyokishan and Seishin Ryu for about three years a few years ago. Made it about half way to black belt but pulled my hamstring and had knee problems. I agree with Tx - fighting is a last resort - I should know I got my butt kicked enough by the black belts in class - LOL

I took Kenpo classes for about a year before scheduling and life got in the way. I could only get to about 4 classes one month, none the next.

Kenpo sounds really interesting. All I know of it is what I saw on that Jeff Speakman movie. ;)
