Any of you into gadgets, remote controls
Below is a conversation I was involved in on a board where we discuss remote controls. I thought it was funny.

I have a W.I.F.E. model 1970 with firmware 2.0 and need help.

Can we post the details here, or do you require us to email you, because you're too lazy to come back and check for yourself???

please email me as I have no idea how I got here, and I am too dumb to bookmark the thread or this site, and I can't be bothered with reading all the FAQ's, how-to's or run a search.

I'm hoping someone can help----
I have a 1949 model Wife. I have no problem getting her to power up (turn on) with my joystick remote; day, nite, shower, etc.
My problem: My son's bedroom is right next to mine. Apparantly her volume level causes my son's parakeet (he keeps his bird in his bedroom)to begin raising a ruckus, and keeps him awake. I've suggested a .357 phaser remote to him to control his bird, but he refuses, says he has too many remotes as it is.
Does someone know the advanced code for my remote to get my wife's mute function to work?

I don't believe there are any models of WIFE that respond to MUTE codes, have you tried getting a girlfriend instead?
Truth be told, I don't believe too many girlfriends have a MUTE function either.
Oh well!

WARNING
Any version of GF loaded at the same time as WIFE will make windows protection errors look easy. The WIFE locks up, changes all passwords and locks out the user.
Typically, WIFE then begins to access financial files, property records and the such, erasing as much as possible and denying the user access to whatever is remaining.
AFAIK, WIFE models are all incompatible with GF.
(There have been some unconfirmed reports of occasional users being able to access WIFE and GF at the same time; however, I have seen no hard evidence of this alleged BI-compatible issue)
