Has anyone heard anything about Laci Peterson?
Has anyone heard anything about Laci Peterson?
Ever since Gulf II, the story has gone away...
If the cops had enough evidence against Laci's hubby, they would have probably arrested him by now (don't you think?)
One thing that I though was pecurliar, two eyewitnesses saw Laci's hubby leave with the house with his boat and then they saw Laci leave the house a few minutes later. Funny how Modesto's finest forgot to mention that. (at the time, they had not followed up on the lead - I guess it wasn't that important).
Sorry - I just have to say this. During the mid-80's there were 8 young women abducted and murdered in unincorporated areas around here. How many were solved by police agencies? None. 10 years later one convict snitched on his cellmate (in exchange for a lesser sentence on his drug conviction). That only solved one of the murders.
For the most part the stories have not made the headlines, because both the war and because there have been no new leads.
I feel for her family, not for her husband.
That creep told his girlfriend he was a widower, that his wife was dead.....umm.
Perhaps it is just a story so he could cheat, but he is still a slime ball in my book.
Last I had heard he had disapeared into mexico and didn't return.
Has anyone heard otherwise ?

who is Laci Peterson? And why are we concerned about her?
No Stump -- not everyone reads cally newspapers.
Laci Peterson was 8 months pregnant when she disappeared while walking in a park near her home in Modesto. So far nothing has been found (no body, no evidence, etc). Go to www.lacipeterson.com for further 411.
Yes, Scott was a s*** for cheating on his wife while she was 8 months pregnant. However, cheating on your wife is not evidence. I think someone mentioned that newspaper stories are not accurate. Well, in this case, the media has spread innuedno like no tomorrow. I don't know if he was involved in the disappearace of his wife, but if he wasn't, it shows that the media in this case had no regards for the truth. A local DJ even started spouting off that the guy was guilty as heck (oh yes, Greg the idiot Kihn, king Chickenhawk himself) -
Just my opinion

Remember this when you are spouting off crap you read about the Bush Administration.

Do you really want to go there? Everything I have put down on the Bush adminstration is either a joke (and classified as such) - or verifiable through several sources.Originally posted by Swat1

So what is the latest news on this case?
Personally, I think the husband's behavior and his demeanor when he speaks is suspicious.

I thought that she had been found...and that she was killed in their own kitchen? I could have had a bad source.
Someone please fill me in.
Nope - nothing. Gone, disappeared.
This happens a lot more frequently that most people realize. It is just that some cases are higher profile and get more attention of LE than others. (this is unfortunate)
The Dallas Morning News, in a wire story today, reported that 2 bodies had washed up to shore, and they are attempting to discover if it is Laci.
RICHMOND, Calif. (AP) -- Medical examiners are trying to determine whether the badly decomposed bodies of a woman and an infant boy that washed up on the northern California shoreline are that of Laci Peterson and her son.
Authorities investigating the disappearance of Peterson, who was eight months pregnant when she vanished Dec. 24, were called to the area. Officials cautioned they had no evidence to indicate that the woman's body, found Monday, is connected to the missing woman and had not confirmed whether the baby and the woman were related.
Peterson, 27 when she vanished, was due to give birth to a boy in February.
"All it is at this point is they had a body wash up," said Modesto Sgt. Ron Cloward, who has headed the search. "We have no indication at this point that it has anything to do with Laci."
Peterson's husband, Scott Peterson, told police he last saw his wife the morning of Dec. 24 as she left their home in Modesto to walk the dog. He said he then went fishing at the Berkeley Marina, about three miles south of where the woman's body was found.
Richmond is about 90 miles northwest of Modesto.
An independent forensic pathologist began examining the woman's body Monday night, about six hours after it was found by a woman walking her dog in a park near Point Isabel. The baby's body had surfaced about a mile away Sunday with his umbilical cord still attached.
The medical examiner's office did not return messages early Tuesday.
Peterson's husband has been questioned about her disappearance but never named as a suspect. He admitted in January that he had an affair with another woman last year but denied any role in his wife's disappearance.
His attorney, Kirk McAllister, said he had told his client about the day's developments. "He's very concerned and broken up at the prospect that it might be his wife," said McAllister.
Laci Peterson's relatives, who had criticized Scott Peterson after his affair was revealed, had no immediate comment.
Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department spokesman Jimmy Lee cautioned that it might take a day or longer to identify the woman and how she died. He said results from the infant's autopsy would be used to determine if they were mother and child.
"It's a very time-consuming procedure. They need to collect the evidence of whatever they can find on the body and clothing," Lee said. "It's going to take some time."
East Bay Regional Park Police Chief Norman Lapera refused to provide details on the body's condition or say whether the woman appeared to have been pregnant.
"We obviously know all that information. We're just not releasing it at this time," Lapera said.
Although detectives from Modesto were on the scene Monday night, the case remained in the hands of the park police who patrol the rocky shoreline where the body washed up at what appeared to be the high-water mark.
"What we've done, as a precaution, is we've notified the Modesto Police Department," Lapera said. "We have their investigators responding to the scene here ... and that's just a normal precaution."
Investigators searched the area around the Berkeley Marina in the weeks following Laci's disappearance and last month searched the area near where the woman's body was found.

Remember those who died, remember those who killed them.
Point Richmond is also just a few miles north of the Berkeley Pier. I hope this isn't her, but with the discovery of the fully gestated fetus yesterday, there are few other conclusions..
There is a website about her.....www.lacipeterson.com
anyone want to take bets that the body is her?
