I would like to see the evidence first before passing judgement. Media coverage is not evidence. An arrest is also not evidence. Obviously the Modesto PD has something other than the body but they have not elaborated yet.

Typical media circus. I hate to say this, but Oakland has had 63 murders so far this year. How many of those victims have you heard of? None - media could care less. Two of those murders were children under the age of 10. (still little mention in the media).

The guy was playing golf while the bodies were being identified. Now, I've never been widowed, but you can bet that if my spouse (if I had one, lol) was missing, and the police recovered an unidentified body, I'd be camped out by the phone until I received word.

My gut feeling--and it's nothing more--is that Scott Peterson didn't want the responsibility of either fatherhood or marriage, and took care of both things with one act. I feel so sorry for Laci's parents as well as Scotts's parents, who seem like nice people. How awful to have your son accused of murdering your beloved daughter-in-law and your grandchild. :(

Of course the investigators aren't saying much about the case, but you have to admit, they must have SOMETHING if they fear Peterson will flee.

Zander, the media always get's the story 80% wrong, and the blood thirsty savages (journalist) will follow up anything that looks promising to sell papers, ad space or further their careers. That's just a given.

Oh yeah, the NOW is protesting the second murder charge on the baby as it will potentially damage their abortion agenda.

Ok, here is Zander again playing armchair quarterback. But I have to put my two cents in.

I do not know if Scott murdered his wife Laci and baby Connor. However, what is really disguisting is the media circus that has permiated this crime since day one. If it were not for the war, the story would have been headlines nearly every day.

Another thing that disguisted me was the news conference. The Modesto Chief of Police spent the first 30 minutes patting himself and other departments on the back. I do beleive that there was some good police work involved, the actual break in the case happened totally by chance (as in tidal conditions which occur on the bay this time of year).

Watching the Stanislaus County DA on TV with a big smile on his face talking about the case was equally as distasteful. He stated this case was a slam dunk. Well Mr. DA, tell that to Gil Gerard, ask him how his position as DA is going. Also, we are not only talking about the murder of a woman and her unborn child, but you are talking about a capital case, a case where a man might pay for a crime with his life. This is no laughing matter and should not be treated as such. (btw: I did email the DA and tell him of my disguist - how would I like it if I smirked while hearing the news of him having prostate cancer was my analogy)

Some background info for non-Northern Californians. There are currently 3 unsolved murders of pregnant women in CA. One of these is from, where else, but Modesto. Modesto PD spent $250,000. on OT alone on the Peterson investigation. They spent less than 1% of that on a simular investigation involving simular cir***stances.

Last year they found a women who had been missing in the bay (she was also 8 months pregnant). - her head was also missing. - strange.
