Hopefully, if I upgrade to a new camera, I will be able to take stuff like that.
Hope you weren't being followed by polar bears.....or do they have them in your neck of the woods?
Get yourself a digital SLR camera. You can alter all the settings like that and get pics like that. I was able to do some neat stuff with my digital SLR.

MORA, love the pictures. I once saw the Aurora Borealis in VA! It was a shifting pink and purple and was fading in and out and moving. At first I was wondering where I had contact with LSD at work and didn't know it. It really blew me away and it was amazing to see. I've never seen anything like it. Thanks for sharing!

PS: When are you heading to Maine?

I am looking at a Cannon digital Rebel SLR. I took some good pics of tornado's last year and they didn't come out well with my Sony Cybershot....I would suspect that I would get the same results if I tried to do that with the Northern Lights.....

    Awesome pic MORA!

If you rob a gas station, you're only going to get about $100, but I get to see a K9 dog use your arm as a chew toy. For all I care you can keep the $100.

I was gonna say...slower speed film (to avoid graininess), LOOOONNNGGGG shutter speed, and larger aperture F-Stop. I love photography.

    COOL PIC!

Wow! In Virginia! Up here they're usually just green, white, and maybe with a little purple on the edges (which is harder to get on film). But once, just once, I saw them red. Completely red, no green to go along with it. And not some kind of faded sissy orange, but dark red. That was really neat. Someone called 911 asking if the city was on fire, because the sky above town was red. Wish I had pictures of that.

I'll be in Maine by May 15th, I leave here in a week.
