If the majority of the LEOs want it, I'm fine with that. But personally I don't think non-LEOs should be voting in how an LE board is going to be set up. This board's really built as an LE resource to allow cops to network. It also has provisions to allow people outside of our field to ask questions and interact, but whereas it's a working tool for those of us in the trade, it's just an on-line playground to the non-cops. And while that's tolerable when kept in proportion, it shouldn't be allowed to interfere with the main function, which is attracting cops and serving as a networking tool for cops.

That's a bunch of baloney. Just because I am not a cop doesn't mean I can't contribute to the board. That is ridiculous to say that the only opinion that matters is a cop's opinion. Everyone that is on this board is interested in law enforcement.
This site has been around since 2001, and has survived that long. If you want this to be a 'cop only' board, then you 30 verified cops can all sit around stroking each other's ego while the 100's of "non-cops" go to another board.
And yes, I believe that the paying supporting members should have a say in the board. I guess if the board is a COP's resource, than all of us "non-cops" should get our money back.
I want to know what JASON thinks. He is the owner of this board, not you, DC.

Community Building? Everyone here is obviously Pro LE, or they would have NEVER bothered looking for a web-site like this. Without new posts, what good is a forum, really? I'm not trying to get bashed into smithereens here, but this forum would be pretty dry without all the features it has now, also probably less traffic, jokes and OT posts or not.

He never said he wanted it to be a cop-only board. But it WOULD be nice if some of the sillyness from those who never contribute ANYTHING related to LE would knock it off a bit.

And contributing money does not give you any say in how the board is run. It is a voluntary thing you do to help support the board because you like it.
