This is an extract from the site rules:

Threads that are sex based are not allowed. Mild joking is ok to a certain extent, but if a thread goes "too far" in our view, it will be closed.


RealPolice has a sexual content rule (above). As with any other rule it is open to interpretation and it is the owner and administrators/moderators who must do that. The point of having rules and policies is to enable members to enjoy the forums and to feel as if they can join in the discussions. So, for example, personal attacks are discouraged and will be dealt with as they tend to create a prickly atmosphere and make people uncomfortable. Working out what is a personal attack and what is vigorous debate is something which is always going to be subjective but moderators try to be fair in interpretation.

The same goes for sexual references. As the rule states “mild joking is ok to a certain extent….”

The moderators have discussed this rule in the light of complaints from some members and we’ve agreed that this rule has to be enforced a little more tightly to ensure that there is maximum enjoyment and comfort in the forums. So be advised that we will close threads without warning if we believe that the rule has been breached.

Now we know that will be met with some displeasure by some but we have to consider the feelings of all and the fact that this is a Law Enforcement related site and while we understand that Law Enforcement Officers all over the world have what might be called a fairly rugged sense of humour (it comes with the job of course) it is usually not displayed in public.

We hope you understand that you continue to enjoy the forums and keep contributing to the enjoyable atmosphere.

OK... I would like to take a moment to clarify something.

NO NEW RULES ARE BEING IMPLEMENTED. We discussed this in the mod section and felt that it was important to reiterate the rule. We would like to keep RP as professional and respectful as possible.

I hope that I am not going out on a limb when I say that I feel it is safe to say that a PG13 rating is about the max that any discussion should take on RP. That is not to say that PG13 photos or videos will be permitted. But adult discussions are not being barred. We would like people to keep in mind that no discussion on here (outside of the verified section) is limited to ONLY adult viewers.

Some cursing (in context) and banter is perfectly acceptable. In addition to being a place for LE, prospective LE and LE supporters to discuss LE related topics, it is also a great place for those with similar interests to "hang out" and have fun.

So please... relax, have fun, and take it easy on each other. This is nothing worth getting upset about.
