From Florida on up through the coast who are still facing the effects of Ivan, I'm sure that all of us here on this site are hoping that this will end soon. I realize it will take some time for things to even begin to get back to 'normal'. (If after something like this, anything CAN get back to normal.) With the flooding and any other problems that arise, please be careful and don't take chances.
Any officers, EMS personnel(sp) that are dealing with this situation, 'be careful' also goes for all of you.

I am truly thankful that I live on top of a hill. I may get more wind but all of the rain runs away from my house. With the 2 to 4 inches of rain expected through tomorrow, I am sure to have fun at work tomorrow.

We suffered through Isabel last year about this time and lost our power for 8 days. It's was an absence of normalcy I hope we don't have to go through for a long time. I feel for those in Florida.

my brother in law says they'll be without power for maybe up to 2 months in pensacola. he does have a generator & air conditioner, but it still seems like that would suck. glad I'm out here on the left coast

I ask this: WHY WOULD ANYONE want to live in Florida or anywhere that is apredominately hurricane prone area. Seems like the same places get hurricanes every year. WHY? Also, How do insurance companies stay in business down there? It is NUTS! But yes, if you MUST live there, stay safe and dry.
