My city is getting the crap flooded outta it from the effects of hurricane Ivan...and my girlfriend lives on washington avenue (which is taking the most water)...and I'm really worried about her. The phones are down (in her area), and you need a boat to get there. Earlier I was walking around helping people find each other, and I found this one little boy..couldn't have been more than 10, just wandering around crying and looking for his mother, I helped him find her, and I also helped a sherriffs deputy direct traffic earlier (stopping cars from crossing this bridge thats underwater, and it's going to give way soon)...but I'm back inside now...because I got cold (I'm going back out soon)....anyway...I'm so scared for her...I hope she's oik.

First off I am so happy to now know that she was smart enough to drive to higher ground...PHEW!!
Well, the flood waters have begun to receed a bit, and things are starting to get a little better. The officer showed me the basics of directing cars...and then we set some flares up before this roadblock. The river is up to 43.2ft.....7.2ft above the flood stage.
And damnit, I just got a call on my cell that a 13 year old boy is missing :(. OMG this is horrible....I can't believe it...I spend 5 hours with this police officer, and I allready think that things have gone to hell...at least I can say that you really know how serious flooding can be...we pushed this car outta water also..because it stalled half way through....
Sorry if my post seems jumbled together...but it's only 9 oclock for me...and I'm allready tired as hell. I'm going out with them again tommarow to help with the cleanup.

Update on the 13 year old boy, as of this point, we know that he was last spotted at about 6:45 p.m. walking home....he took middle creek road, which obivously enough is by a creek. I hate to say it, but things aren't looking too good for him. :(:(
