I Got Hit By A Car Last Night!

So am working last night (Monday), and the resort had a couple major parties going. DUI city. The local PD knows it, so they are keeping an eye on the area immediately outside our parking lot. I always keep an eye on things, and try to keep drunks from escaping, but with just me on duty overnight, and 500 party goers in 2 seperate functions, it is a chore.

Anyway, I get a call that one of the guys is in the lot looking for his ride. I go out there, confront him, and he gets in his car, starts it, and peels out - right into me. I do a tripple lutz off the bumper and hood and end up *** over teacups on the parking lot. My right knee took the bumper, and when I try to stand up the thing is pissed at me. Luckily, the locals were down on the street and saw the guy come tearing out of the lot. They hook him for DUI, blowing the stoplight, and hitting me, among others I'm sure.

Anyway the knee is pretty stiff and swollen today, but the EMT's said it felt "sound". I couldn't get transported becuase I was the only one there to be manager and security. So I go to the doctor tomorrow (Wed) for a full check. Today it's just stiff and sore beneath the knee cap (petellar tendon).

Nice, eh? Wonder if I'll get a raise outta this.......

My job is a lawsuit waiting to happen. They have eliminated so many positions, and prevented us from filling others, so that most nights after 0200 I am the manager, security officer, room service, bellman, valet, a houseman for public areas, engineer..... basically I am th eonly one there. This happened around 0300, i got to call the boss at 0340, and when he got in at 0500, it was nearly quit'n time anyway.

Man, I so need a PD to hire me and save me. I could use the nice, quiet, and safe streets of Chicago to relax and get some peace and quiet on.

Actually, i was stading half in front of the car (my primary mistake) on the drivers side when I saw him shove it in gear. I went to step back, and at the same time he yanked away to the right and gunned it. My right leg was planted and extended in front of me as I pushed back, and the front left of the car caught me by the knee, spun me, my cheeks bounced off the hood, and I landed on my keister as he pulled off. I'm just glad I didn't get run over by the back tires as he passed me. I iced and ibupurofened all morning, then iced today before spending about 15 minues on the bike to loosen up a little, then iced again right after. The swelling is minimal, it just aches in the petellar tendon and at the end of the inner head of the quads. Nothing that a few days of ice won't cure. It takes a heck of a lot more than a '99 Grand Prix to stop this monkey.
