    need answer asap

so recently i found a Washington state ferry card on my walk to school. I always pick stuff up that looks even a little interesting, because there's a chance of it being a little treasure to keep. I have tried the walk on tickets that i find on the floor or ground, ever since i was seven and only one time was one active. so really, i was positive i was picking up junk. but why not. so i get to the ferry to try and use it, because it said it had a balance of a whole 60.00~ Of course if it wasn't a dud i would have used one for a finders fee and handed it back to rightful owner. no- this ferry pass was reported stolen and involved in a chain of robberies that have been going hard for the past 2 months, news coverage and all. once he told me it was stolen i look at my brother in the back seat, i was startled and before i could tell the toll booth worker it was junk i picked up to even see if it was the real pass- my brother opened his mouth and said he bought it from a dude. WHICH WAS A LIE! not to mention my brother has been committed of many charges and has served many years since a kid, from his first offense of armed robbery 15 years ago locally, where we live now. The police know him by name~ he messed up b/c in the beginning he was trying to get the heat off me, because i have a chance at life, unlike the rest of my family. he DID not know that that was a pass stolen from the chain of break ins. I am going to the police station today to tell the truth. which nobody but me and my brother knows. my man of four years thinks Chris bought it from some "random" guy when i picked a piece of trash up on the side of the road, i wasn't going to take it but i feel bad littering, putting it right back- so i tossed it in my book bag, and thought maybe ill check it next time i go over town. the Washington ferry took my boyfriend license plate down. I'm scared since my brother is very notorious for burglaries, that they will take an easy route and blame the most blamed. but he is a changed guy, only if you all could see. my boyfriend does not know i found the ticket, he wouldn't have even tried if lets say it wasn't stolen. i haven't told him my bro took the blame for me because i don't want him to think lower than he always has, because of my family mostly. I have never been in trouble. I hope they will believe me? can they not believe me? and if i get in trouble what would it be? i should have just left it there, beings that that is THE ONLY evidence in months of ongoing investigation robberies. yeesh. I go talk to the investigator at 11, please ASAP, Katie

Show up to the interview with the investigator on time, and be completely honest and forthcoming. That's about all anyone can tell you on what you should do.

Thank you very much for any input at all. Is there any rights i should know of, since he is family, and my whole family has a horrid reputation. and its twelve burglaries they are trying to link together.

Katie, good luck with your situation. From what I was able to read, your family has walked the line with the law before. All I can say is ve truthful. It always works.

I tapped out after having to back to re-read a line three times. We really need to change the TOS to require at least an attempt at proper posting....crap may fly on FB or text, but it doesn't mean it has to start here.

Can you explain what this means ?

I think he is saying that if it was a working pass, he would find the owner of it and give it to him but for a finders fee....what happened to common courtesy???

Or would have used it once, having decided that the amount used up on the card once is equal to the amount the owner should pay for getting it back.

Sorta like finding a wallet and taking a fiver out of it before giving it back to the owner.

So if it hadn't been reported stolen , you would still be using it until it was drained. Your ethics answer why your family has run ins with the police. I am sure this trend will continue.
