Hello Everyone

I stumbled on this site searching for something else. I tested for the FL cjbat (corrections) exam today. Although I do not receive my scores today I feel good I did well. Either way I will find out Tuesday if I am able to apply to attend the academy. My goal is to gain employment in a jail or prison and move towards a career on the road as an officer.

I am married, in good physical condition, and have 2 daughters. When the economy collapsed my wife and I decided to make lemonade out of lemons. We are both in the process of major career changes. She is one year from becoming a school teacher,and I have begun the process of moving into a law enforcement career. Prior to this we were in business for ourselves.

Although I have a ton of work in front of me, and a challenging road to get hired. I am super excited about 2012 and have a goal to get through academy and get in job somewhere in the State of Fl. Hopefully with a county agency.

I Look forward to getting to know folks and learning from everyone. Perhaps even working with some of you.

Thank you! I live in SW Florida. We have an academy here in our area which I have been talking them for the past several weeks. It wasn't a spur of the moment idea. It is going to require a ton of preration on our part to prepare to take 16 weeks off. However, I am commited to the idea, and the folks at the academy seem to more than willing to help me get in and through.
