Hello Everyone,
I've been lurking here for awhile and have learned a lot of valuable information. So, a little about myself and my goals...
I'm currently majoring in Psychology with a minor Criminal Justice and plan to get my master's (and PhD eventually) in Forensic Psychology. To pay the bills and build some experience I work full-time as a security officer at a casino. At the moment I speak two foreign languages, but have several more in the works. Between this, a wife, an energetic dog and my passion for music, there is seldom an idol moment in my day.
My interest in Law Enforcement started at a young age, as with most of you. My grandfather was a command sergeant major in the US Army as well as chief of police, detective lieutenant, and creator of Sprint-United's corporate security department in Kansas City, among other things. Growing up with him around, I was all but destined to pursue this career. He passed away recently and though he left a big hole and even bigger shoes to fill, little would make me more proud than to continue in his footsteps. This, combined with a strong desire to help others, has brought me here today.
I know it's a long road ahead and though I can't wait to finally get the job, I'm not going to rush it. I'm going to keep my head down, finish school, and spend a ridiculous amount of time here on the forum :-)
-Robert
