Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the presence of justice.
My new hero!
Believe it or not I actually do a line of work completely different. I work as an accountant for the state of New Jersey in the Department of Developmental Disabilities. In Israel, the Army after your first 2 years is kinda like the National Guard unless your in Special forces..some of the more well known ones like Sayeret Makhal, Shayetet 13, etc. But for the most part day to day work in the Army along the border is filling sandbags, clearing brush, keeping weapons operational, etc. Its a lot different than the U.S army, some good and some bad, when it comes to that. You are right..Hezbollah controls South Lebanon...and they have no regard for human rights. I worked along a couple of outposts ( that you wont find on google earth) that were about 50 meters or so from where Hezbollah kidnapped two of our soldiers in 2006, prior to the war. They sadly keep building their strength via Iranian funding and Syrian support, while the UNIFIL II forces turn a blind eye. As you can see on the news, Syria is fomenting unrest along the Golan heights to deflect away from the crimes of the Assad regime. Its very complicated.
Welcome to RP from the Florida Panhndle! Glad you found us and joined up. Tons of great info, so dig right in and explore the space.
