From Far East of Japan to USA for 10 years now..

Hello..I am Tomoko..I'm 29 I come from Japan..I have forfeited my citizenship in Japan to become a US Citizen as I have lived here for 8 years now.. as of late and passed my citizenship exam. I have always been curious about law enforcement...and fan of it...but I don't think I could do it as a career..police of the western world like here in America have always fascinated me. The men are much more big and strapping and just have that commanding presence..than compared to skinny little japanese men from japan lol.

But in Japan their police cars colors take after the black and white like LAPD and others with similar color scheme. For now I am uemployed...I worked for Japan Airlines as flight attendant..but they close up here in Washington state a while back...but my english is fine...despite my thick accent I have no trouble of others who understand me at all. I thought maybe being bi-lingual would help finding work..but its mostly in spanish :(

Oh! and also..is there a reason why I am unable to fill out my profile? because of approval I assume..

    Talk soon!

    -tomo

Tomoko, Welcome to RP from the Florida Panhandle! Glad you found us here on the internet! Thanks so much for joining and for the great intro! I spent about a total of 18 months in Japan while in the Marine Corps and absolutely loved it! Oh, and Congratulations on becoming an American Citizen!

I'm not sure why you can't fill in your profile yet. I'll take a look at if I find anything out, I'll make sure to let you know. In the mean time, dig right in and really explore the space.

Thank you for looking into that..yes I have an interview for further testing for dispatcher position RIVERCOM..they assist these two neighboring counties along with state patrol so two police departments, two sheriff dept and the state patrol along with many others..very large and fast paced for such small valley..would make it for exciting work...apparently my english speaking, reading, and writing abilities surpass their standards..i scored 91% now onto more testing like the typing I would imagine. I could see myself doing dispatch..

in Japan a Prefecture is the equivelent to a State in the US which prefectural police carry out the same duties as a State Trooper is most cases..then you have "wards" within those prefectures that act similar to a county. So very similar just different words/meaning

    Konbanwa Tomo_Tsu-san.

Welcome to RP. What part of Japan are you from?

For those who don't know, Okinawa and Hokkaido are culturally different from the main bulk of Japan.

Okinawa is the birthplace of karate when Kung Fu was brought from China.

MP - I was always jealous of those jarheads who got to go to Okinawa. Had I stayed in the Corps, those were my next set of orders. I had my reasons for leaving at the time, but in hindsight I should have re-upped. ;)
Of every one hundred men, ten should not even be here. Eighty are nothing but targets. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the One... One of them is a Warrior... He will bring the others back.

    "Wrong door, buddy!"

Let no man's ghost say my training failed him.

    Welcome to RP forum.

In my last job I worked for a Japanese company with many gentlemen and ladies from Japan.
I learned a few words in Japanese but since I haven't used them in a few years it is difficult to remember them.

    Enjoy your time here!

I am living the American Dream for how bad the economy here is and other situations..I am thankful to live in a better country and I think ever since I convert to have the Lord and Christ in my life things have turned for the better. Western people think we practice Buddhism and Shinto when many also are Christian in Japan.

Welcome, Tomo. We're happy to have you with us here on RP.

I am tempted to make your thread a "sticky". I would love to point many newcomers to it. Not only did you make a very nice introduction, but you did it with better English and grammar than many of members whom have English as their first language.

    Again welcome aboard.

He is understanding and said to call him if i need anything. I play for softball ream and always have been active/athletic.
