Nypd exam 8132

Hi,

I am a current NYPD hopeful and was referred to this site for some questions I have. I am 20 years old and currently a college student with roughly 45 credits earned. I took the NYPD exam in Oct of 09 and scored a 90.88. Hopefully with the way the NYPD is hiring, i get called before my exam expires but ofcourse if not I have taken additional back up exams. Now my question is this, last year i was stopped by an officer on the train because i had a pocket knife which was visible. I explained to the officer that I was in my way home from work, as I work for my father in the construction field on the days I have off from school, however she decided to place me under arrest eventhough I also explained that I had not a clue that it was illegal. I spent the night in jail saw the judge the next day who dropped my charges to a violation and dismissed my case. How, if any cops can please answer or former police applicants, can this affect me in my process?
