My name is Noah and I am going to college to get a degree in criminal justice, wanting to become a police officer... from California... and I was wondering if I could become a dispatcher part time while I go to college? That would give me some experience which should help me when I apply to become a police officer. Thanks.

Welcome to the board Noah, I'm not A leo but yes you should be able to get a job dispatching the city I live in the Sheriff's office is ALWAYS ALWAYS hiring for dispatch, here all you need is a diploma, type 30 words per minute and pass your background I have actually considered this in the past before I went back to school. a girl that used to rent from me did it and her schedule was awful though... 4am-4pm....so i quickly reconsidered...
