Hi All,

My name is Isham, I'm 34 years old and I'm a documentary filmmaker researching LE-related stories for new documentary/reality TV series. I work for the sort of doc company that produces shows for such channels as National Geographic, Discovery, History and so forth.

I'm looking for LEO stories that involve family relationships - siblings, parent-child, cousins, or departments that feel like families - for an upcoming documentary TV series. Any and all suggestions are appreciated and you can either post to this thread or send me a personal message. If you'd like more information on me prior to posting, don't hesitate to get in touch.

Not sure whether this is better posted to the General forum, the AAC forum or the screenwriter's sub-forum in AAC...I figured I might as well put it into my intro. If it should go somewhere else, please advise.

Hello Isham,

First and foremost, Welcome to Real Police from the Florida Panhandle! There's tons of great info already on the site, so please, jump right in and explore the space! We've got a pretty comprehensive search function, so that should be able to help you also. Once you get to know the site pretty well, I'm sure you'll find lots of what you're looking for.

If you can't find something you're looking for, pick the best forum for it and post a new thread. If you're looking as a writer, your best bet would probably be the new Ask-A-Cop: Writers' Questions section, which it seems you've already discovered.

As for your intro, it's in the right section. And may I add that it's a breath of fresh air to see an intro so well written with correct grammar and punctuation!

Also, I'd like to personally thank you for taking the time to join as a Supporting Member and contributing to the maintenance of our "home" here on the net! I hope you'll come to enjoy it as much as we do!

"Narco State" National Geographic. LE-related show looking at kidnappings in Phoenix (worked directly w Phoenix PD) and violence in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
"Human Family Tree" NG. Doc about understanding early human migration using population genetics.
"Stories from the Vaults" - Smithsonian. Series providing an inside look into the Smithsonian's collections.
"Dog Genius" NG. Doc about what makes dogs unique.

Oooh. This now has real significance. Unrelated to the documentary I presume. The head of phx PD is on the hotseat for claims about Phoenix kidnappings used to get a Fed grant. His office was cleaned out by an LT today.

Good luck on obtaining research material, your previous work is fairly broad, did the Mexico doc spark your interest into furthering LEO stories or its just how the dice rolled?
