Hello all,
Finally "joined" rather than being a ghost reader, sorry for not qualifying myself prior to posting, an egregious breach of ediquette...Sorry Big Sexy!
Here goes, I will make an attempt to give a little history while remaining somewhat sanitized. If there are any specific questions that arise I will accept PM's from moderators but I will not violate any OPSEC - No, Not Jason Borne but we all know the deal.
Started off many moons ago in the US Army, 95B, military Police. Spent a few years CONUS, mostly boring patrol and dreadful physical security (AJCC - Raven Rock Mountain - can you give me a Zzzzzzz). I was fortunate enough to not listen to my fellow soldiers, I volunteered for EVERYTHING that came my way. Boards, schools, contests, lotto, name it. My future ex-wife hated it! I moved onto hostage negotiations, Special Reaction Team, Urban Sniper, "join the Army stuff".
Got myself stationed down in Central/South America where the really fun stuff was. Worked with a great group of folks with JSOC/SOCSOUTH/C 3/7/SOAR and the like. Spent alot of time TDY during the surge of CN/CNT in the big cocaine producing countries. Met alot of nice country folks and saw some beautiful jungles, disrupted a few governments, and destroyed healthy crops.
During the time above I worked closely with the good folks at the US Embassy in the respective countries, DAO/RSO/POLAD/SPACOS as well as their host nation counter parts. You know the phrase; "Why has there never been a Coup D'etat in the USA? Because there is no US Embassy!"
My future ex-wife decided she did not want me to be in Army any longer - stability or some sh)t like that. Don't know. So I got out...Hmmmm. What to do next. Private Military Contractor/Private Security Contractor, pick your choice. Well, I stayed out of the Great Sandbox, good call anyway, wayyyy too much bad PR with a few companies. Spent alot of time back in the lower Americas and the Caribbeans...Wouldn't ya know, got divorced! Did I mention I was making ALOT of money? Well, she sure knew it! HaHa. Funny now, not then!
So I eventually licked my wounds, I couldn't afford bandages anyway, and settled in SE USA where I started a kinder and gentler way conducting security vulnerability assessments and providing personal protection for the rich and undeserving. I still travel down south, conducting the occasional insurance fraud investigation, life insurance and the like.
Recently I found that I have the drive to work for the Federal Govt. The unfortunate reality is that I waited a few years too late. Just turned 38 and I have some limited options, thank God for the VEOA and the fact that a few agencies don't frown on those in the Geriatric category!
Rambled on quite a bit. As I said I know it is pretty sanitized but this is a public forum and I hope that there is a professional understanding. I know I do not qualify a "verified" so I cannot post there. Any questions, fire me a PM and I will try to answer.
Cheers!
