Like others said though never put your eggs in one basket if LE is truly your goal. There are plenty of great PD's out there all across the country. Personally for me, I left the Island when I was younger and lived down south for 12 years. I never felt like I was "home" down there though and am happy as hell to be back.
I'm surprised people are still answering this. It's been a little while, but a welcome is a welcome! California is looking pretty nice, but I'm not sure if I want to move.

It's not Socialism more than it is 'white flight'. We do have very high taxes though and the left coast is looking very good for prospective LEO's since they have the highest population, so the most need for them.
One great thing about America?
That I can even question that.
