    New Guy

    Hello,

I'm a 20 year old from Victorville, California. Looking into possibly joining Law Enforcement. Ever since I was a kid I've always been interested and intrigued in law enforcement and lately, been wanting to pursue it.

No real bad rap sheet, 2 accidents (One hit and run.. I hit him when he braked for no reason, he ran) and one expired tag citation (long story, life completely flipped upside down within 3 days.)

Two things really appealed to me:
    Border Patrol
    San Bernardino County Sheriff

For County Sheriff, how bad will my past hurt me?

No drug uses, don't drink alcohol, experimented, next morning told myself I'd never get drink again.

    Welcome aboard.

If the other guy ran, it's just an accident as far as your background is concerned.

And a citation for expired plates is nothing.

Don't sweat it if that's all there is.

    Good Luck-

    Citicop.

    Thank you :D

Just what I wanted to hear, was affraid the accidents or even just the expired was going to hurt me

I know to use a Taser, you have to feel what it's like to be tased. How much does this hurt, if at all? I've heard it doesn't hurt you're muscle just tense up, to, it's the worst pain in someones life, can I get some input?

And not the input of trying it myself :p

    It wasn't required for us.

    I volunteered. ;)

It may be the least pleasant five seconds I have ever experienced.

Having said that, I'm glad I did it. I know how effective it can be.

I really appreciate you answering my questions.

Is there anything I should ask my sheriff's about when I contact them?

I'm going to be contacting them tomorrow to see if I can't schedule a few ride-along sessions.
