Let me start by saying thank you to all that serve our country and our fellow men.
My name is Shaun and I'm a Wayne State graduate trying to get started in law enforcement. I've always been driven to help others but have been searching for the best way for me to do that. I thought about the service but my fiancee just isn't comfortable with me being overseas for months at a time.
After graduating I took my MCOLES tests and applied to a local department. I placed high on their list and am waiting for a phone call. A couple of months ago I met an RP member (Chewy) and he got me thinking about the idea of CBP. After some investigation, I decided to apply. I feel that CBP will give me the opportunity to serve not just a city, but my country (which is what I've always wanted to do) without having to leave my fiancee to go overseas. I'm scheduled to take the Logic/ALT test at the beginning of next month.
I would love any input that you have and look forward to someday being able to offer perspective to other future LEO's.
Again, I would truly appreciate any insight in regards to the CBP testing/hiring process, CBP Academy, and the day-to-day of a CBP Officer.
Thanks,
Shaun
