I am a 28 year veteran police officer in Florida. I have worked for both a small local police department as well as a very large county sheriff's office. I have served in many areas of law enforcement to include road patrol, narcotics, DUI Enforcement, Traffic Homicide and in the training division. I currently serve as the Police Academy Commander at Santa Fe College, Gainesville, Florida. I am responsible for all Basic Recruit Training (Law Enforcement and Corrections) as well as all Firearms, Driving and all high liability training at the Academy. I teach many subjects in the Law Enforcement Academy and also Advanced and Specialized courses. I am a Federal and State of Florida Certified Court Expert in Computer Crime / Forensics Investigations. (See CV for Details). I also teach college level Computer Forensics Courses for Santa Fe College (Data Forensics 1 & 2).
I assisted the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for over eight years in the development and writing of the current Basic Law Enforcement CMS Curriculum which is used state wide in Florida. I also have acted as a Subject Matter Expert for F.D.L.E. in several areas. I served as a member and chairman of the F.D.L.E. High Liability Trainers Conference Committee for over 6 years.
I have been instructing since 1984 in law enforcement. I taught in the U.S. Army Military Police in areas of Anti-Terrorism and Nuclear Weapons Security before that. I am a certified State of Florida (C.J.S.T.C.) Instructor. I have certification in many areas, to include Firearms, Law Enforcement Driving, RADAR, LASER, DUI and all areas of the Basic Law Enforcement Recruit Classes.
