Hello All,
I have been browsing this site for awhile now. I am planning on making the switch from my current career to law enforcement. I hope to be ready to apply by early next year, but first I have to get into shape. 7 years of working desk jobs has really proven to be a serious roadblock! I should tip the scales at 180, but am currently 224 (down 20 from where I was about a month and a half ago). I have a lot of work cut out for me!
I am fortunate in that my wife has given me her 110% in support of my decision and fully understands the risks (her father was a Deputy). My sister worked as a correctional officer (left to raise her kids, but says that she loved her job) and is supportive as well.
I am in my mid-20's, and I never lived a lifestyle that would create a run-in with the law outside of a few speeding tickets, so at least I don't have a dark history that may rear its head and ruin my prospects. I look forward to getting a chance to ask questions, learn more, and become better prepared for my future.
