My name is James, I'm a student at UCONN. I've always had an interest in LEO. Stumbled upon this site while reading about the legalities of expendable batons so I figured I'd poke my head in and try to get some more insight into what goes into becoming a police officer, how to get into the specialized departments (Negotiation, SWAT, DEA, etc.)
I'm sure there's already tons of answers to those general questions on this forum so I'm going to go start digging around.
Oh, and to all the proper LEO officers here: you have my utmost respect and thanks for doing what you do.
