Hi everyone, ive been browsing the forums for about an hour and i decided to sign up and introduce myself. I was an explorer with the CHP for 6 years untill i turned 21 and aged out. I was born partially deaf in one ear but was always told by doctors and advisors that my hearing wouldnt be an issue because i could still function normally. After applying with the LAPD and completing the hiring process i was told that i did not pass the hearing test and that my hearing loss was so severe that my dreams of becoming a LEO in the state of CA was pretty much done. a few months later i was diagnosed with menieres disease which pretty much means i get horrible vertigo for days at a time, luckily it can be controlled with meds,unfortunatly it caused me to loose the rest of the hearing in my ear. Now im a dispatcher for an ambulance company that provides 911 service to the fire dept. Im trying to get hired on by a county or city PD, i look forward to chatting with you guys. Stay safe.:D
