Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello.
I am currently a 29 yr old SSgt with the U.S Marines stationed in Washington D.C and will be leaving Active Duty later on this year and pursuing a new career as a Police Officer in and or around the D.C , MD area. I say in or around because I currently have applications in at 6 or so different departments. Why so many. Never put all your "eggs" in 1 basket. That is a very true and vital fact I have come to learn. I firmly believe I will be accepted to each department I have applied to and will have to choose which department fits me and my family best when it comes time to moving on to bigger and better things as I leave Active Duty later on this year. If anyone has any tips or suggestions they feel may help me in this new adventure please feel free to post. I am very open to new and improved ways about doing things. I didn't invent the "wheel" nor do I try and act like I know everything about a subject. Also if you are a Police Officer in the area and or also prior Military I would be very excited to talk to you about the process and your department. Or if you are in the DC , MD area and happen to golf or ride motorcycles I am all about meeting and interacting with new people so feel free to shoot me a PM. I am definitely not hear to offend anyone or be a pest so if I did say something that was out of line please feel free to correct me. I like to say " Come correct or be corrected" so constructive criticism is something I can always learn from. Look forward to hearing from everyone.
