My first written (or should I say fill in circles) exam is over. I knew going into this that it would not be easy to become an officer, but it really did not hit me until I saw the line of people behind me to take the test just how much competition there would be. The department has just 3 open positions.

The test was not too bad, except for the spelling section. I didn't realize how many words that I though I knew how to spell looked wrong when there were three other possible spellings that made me question myself:eek: Oh well, this one is over now and I just get to sit and wait for the next step. I feel good about the rest of the test. There were only a couple of questions that I was not positive about the answer.

Again, my hat is off to all of you that have become a LEO, and I wish all of you currently in the process the best of luck (unless you happen to be applying at the same dpt that I am;)

The interviews are usually the "money-makers". You could have an average score (about 90%) and still beet out a lot of people if your interview scores are really high. Good luck!!!

I received the letter yesterday, I am continuing on to the next step:D

My Interview is scheduled for Thursday Mar 6, and the PT is two days later:eek::D

My work outs are getting better, and at the moment I can pass the minimum requirements on all of the tests.

Now for the fun part of filling out every detail of my life.

I was unaware of Hendricks Co, but I knew about Avon. Their deadline has passed, and they just sent out letters for the written test. It is the week before my PT with westfield. I am hoping for a response fairly soon about IMPD testing. There are a few other departments that I have found in the area that are getting close to starting the hiring process. Hopefully, if things don't pan out in Westfield, one of the others will work out.

A friend of mine also applied at Avon, but he is also in the process with IMPD (for the third time) and is scheduled for his PT on the same day as the Avon test. He is trying to see if he can move his PT, but if not, I think he will stay with IMPD Funny enough, he had gone through the whole hiring process with IMPD and then was dismissed because the former Mayor decided we did not need as much law enforcement in a city with a rising crime rate :confused:
