Hey There everybody and thank you for such a warm welcome. That's great that you also live in Pa.Kate and mcsap.I live an hour north of Pittsburgh.I actually know a couple of officers from down your way also Kate,a vice detective and a K-9 officer. In answer to your question mcsap I am planning on getting a job as a Criminal Investigator of course and while doing that I am also looking in to following through to obtain a masters degree in Forensic Psychology.I have background in Administrative Assistant work also so on the 7th of this month I am being scheduled to take a civil service exam to get me started in a possible office situation through the state police until I complete my associates degree and I can go in to law enforcement.Thank you so much for asking:D.

You do realize that you will have to work the road as a regular officer/trooper for 3-5 years minimum before you can go off into investigations ?? !!
The PSP academy is a live-in type for 5 months I believe , then you'll very likely be on midnight shift or roatating evenings and nights . Just wanted to make sure that you as a single mom know what kind of position you are geting into.

G'day from Australia and welcome to RP.
I think we all know it's tough to be a single parent and to find that balance between work/study and home.
Good luck on the exam and whatever career you decide on.

Thank You so much Kazz for the welcome and well wishes.Yeah being a single parent can be hair raising to say the least especially when you are raising a teenage daughter, lol.Too little clubs not enough time to beat the boys all off,lol :D.
You're welcome but I know there are several single parents on this forum, some of whom are looking at a career change or applying for law related jobs after completing their study. As well as one's who write a very good blog!!! :D
It's hair raising enough bringing up a teenage daughter with two of us!!! I'm sure she's given me the last lot of grey hairs!!
