As a european women and driver I am very confused about ameryka.
My driving school took 4 month, and 2500 euro. We dont have speed limit ( most everywhere).
Also if Police officer pull me over he stop a front of my car not behind.
I can step out and talk to him. No problem
Why US police is sooo aggressive?
I miss europe, everyday is challenge.Everyday is new....
I like people here. They very!! nice. Some asking me if we have chrismas in germany....
Well its OK they dont know better.
Still looking for friends....

Best answer regarding your question would be a difference in policing styles as well as in culture. And the speed limit issue might be because you spent 4 months and a lot of money to get your license; we can pass a written and skills test without driving school and pay $20 for ours. Yes, in germany everyone need to go to at least 4 monts class to get driving lisence.
But also the Autobahn( highway) is built for speed .You dont drive slow on the left line, or you get killed.
Well I wish more american would go and visit europe.
I know, I know why should they....:D

Also I want to say that I have a huge respect for police work.My work is not soooo dengerous .
Only a nurse who try to save some lifes sometime....
I understand why US police is not so nice. I wouldnt be neither....

But my biggest problem is my driving license. Still german. I have to change now, soon.
I have to go to school again!!!!!!!!!!Please I dont want to....
I drove without problems in Japan, europe( oh Boy I remember London...)
Bahrain ( I hate it) and now I have to go again??? Why?
Can you imagine I am sitting with 17 years boys they dont know how to start the car...

Welcome martina to Real Police. Hope you enjoy your stay here in the US and I would love to visit the Mother Land. It is on my list of things to do. Folks in the US are not ready to drive that fast such as the Autobahn. But when you have an accident on the Autobahn there is certanally going to be a fatality due to the speed of the vehicles. This is what we try to deter with the speed limits set on our interstate and highways.
