Hello everyone, I just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. I'm currently in the last stages of becoming a conservation officer trainee with the state of New Mexico.
The last 5 days has been quite hectic, stressful, and nerve racking for sure. As of today I have successfully passed the physical asessment, pre-cursory background interview with a human lie detector, withstood and exceled on a 6 person pannel interview and completed the long and arduous psych evaluation consisting of 1100 true false questions and an oral interview with a psychologist.
I'm now in the waiting mode, I should know the results of the psych eval and thorough background check in a week or two. If I continue i'll be starting the academy the last part of July.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to say thank you for all the great information and advice on this site! Here's to the future!

Thanks RT, i've been working on this for a long time, i'm not sure what to expect from the psych eval, but lord willing everything will be A-OK! How bout a little advice for surviving the academy and field training?

Never been to NM State Academy, but some generic advice: Two eyes and two ears minus one mouth means you do more listening and watching than talking. Academies are places to learn and develop, not show what you know beforehand, or in some cases, what the person doesn't know when they open their mouth, if you catch my drift;) Good luck, stay safe and if I ever get back down to the SW, maybe we will run into each other.
