Hey everyone, im a senior in college who grew up in Queens NYC and i am thinking about joining the NYPD when i am done. I basically signed up for this forum so i can find out what i am in store for and what being an officer is really like. Im a small guy ( 5' 3") but im not shy or meak. Im quick witted and fast on my feet. Just wondering if a guy like me can cut it.

as long as you can physically keep up, you will have no problem. If you can hop a 6 foot fence, thats pretty much keeping up!

Yeah i can climb a fence no prob. I am sure there are more things to being a cop then that tho. Other wise these guys would be perfect cops

nah im just talking about your height. If you have no problem climbing a 6 foot wall...running....and other various things, then you will have no problem passing the academy stuff. Otherwise, i guess the only thing that will effect you on the job obviously is if a perp is 3 times bigger then you. Im in the academy now and i aint too tall. 5'7 here.
