Hello from Raleigh NC

Hello all,
My name is Taylor I am 20 years old and I will be starting the application process with the Raleigh Police Dept., in mid august. Im happy to have found a site with so much helpful information, and hope to be able to contribute sometime in the near future. I will tell you a little bit about myself as to give a proper introduction. I am 6"5 275 pounds. I played football in HS for 4 years and participated in track as well. I played at WCU briefly on scholarship, then decided to call football a quits, i had lost my passion and missed the old days when it wasnt a full time job. I transferred to the local Comm. college and went for two semesters. I have been accepted to NCSU but do not have the means to pay tuition. I plan on getting on the dept. and finishing my bachelors in CJ and moving directly into my masters in public administration. It will be a difficult few years being a rookie, college student, and of course a Dad (yes my GF of 3 years is pregnant with my first child and I couldnt be more excited). My father is a Lt. with Raleigh, my mother is a captain with wake county SD, and my stepfather is a retired Captain with Raleigh. This job is in my blood and it is my calling... I only hope that the hiring process will go smoothly and i can begin to fill the large shoes, and walk the path as straight as it has been laid infront of me. Again I am very happy to be here and I hope you guys and gals are ready for tons of questions... after searching for the answers of course.;)

Hey, I'm from the Charlotte area, nice to have another North Carolinian aboard.

On the tuition issue, we have a lot of good Army National Guard units here in NC...you should look into it. The tuition assistance covers any state school almost (if not) 100%....plus you get the GI Bill. PM me if you want more info, I'll make sure you get hooked up with the right people that won't jerk you around.

Thanks for the welcomes. I actually looked into the reserves and nearly joined but decided not to. RPD actually offers TA to its officers. So i believe i will take advantage of that. I appreciate the offer. Ive also been informed that my name is going to have to be changed. I didnt intend to "impersonate", it is just a quote from Judge Dredd.
