You HATE the justice system but want to catch bad guys...

I see a cape and a secret identity in your future...

The system isn't perfect by any means, but it IS the best one on the planet IMHO.

So, deal with the system's imperfections and get into law enforcememt, CHANGE the system by becoming a politician or judge, or find an unrelated carreer.

BTW...what, specifically, are your problems with the system as it exists, if it is neither the laws nor the cops?

Basically its just that I dont see how it is okay for one man to be able to judge you and say what you deserve. I think if you raped someone, you should have your manhood cut off, then die. If you murdered, then you should die the same way you killed. If you are a pedophile or you did anything bad to kids, then you should be beaten, manhood cut off, hands broken, tongue cut out, etc.

I think jails should be kept for smaller crimes, even though yes they still hurt someone, you should have to work it off in jail. And there should be no luxories for them either. Man, give them a reason to fear going back to jail or being arrested, so many people today dont fear the justice system, they mock it.

I found that to pretty humurous but my advice is to never say that in a psych interview because I can gurantee they will DQ you or put you on some kid of review.

chisum that is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard. First of all, our laws have structure to them. If you rape someone, you will not likely get a death sentence. If you did, why rape them???? might as well rape them then kill them. Our laws and punishments were created to DETER individuals from committing further severe crimes!! If i get death for rape, i might as well murder my victim. What system wants that????????

For starters, rarely is a defendant "judged" by one man; for the serious crimes you listed above, guilt or innocence (and in some cases the sentence) will be decided by a jury of one's peers. The Founding Fathers did this to prevent only one man from passing judgement on serious crimes.

Secondly, I appriciate your dislike of hardcore criminals, but those methods are hardly appropriate in a free society. The carrer you are looking for is with the Iranian or North Korean police forces. They will agree with the hard line tactics you are advocating.

By the way...I would be interested in hearing any siggestions you have on how the justice system shold work (absent the judges you detest so much).

    Citicop.

Edit- I'm also curious how you balance your advocacy of brutal criminal punishment with this part of your signature line:

Sorry about my ranting in my last post, I see what you all mean by the fact that basically an eye for an eye tactic just wouldnt work. At the same time though yall have to admit that todays criminals mock the justice system. I remember touring a youth prison in San Saba for part of my probation, and there it seemed that everyone was definatly being punished and learning from it, but I also got to sit down with them and eat lunch. Every one of them told me that it wasnt that bad once you have been in there for a while and youre able to adjust to it. That it was the ones who really didnt have the capability to adapt to life behind bars that ended up loosing it and trying to escape or start acting poorly or dangerously. Most of them I was around told me that they would probably be back in later in life, they thought it was funny or cool.

Sure there were a couple of guys that told me that they would never do anything again that would land them behind bars. So for people like that, I can see where jails and boot camps do good, but what about the mass majority of the ones that admit to going back to a criminal life.

Also, the reason for my signature is it is from the movie The Crow, and it just always stuck with me from the first time I saw it. That and I have always been thought of as an anarchist for my beliefs, I havent really studied anarchism, so I wouldnt really know.

Dude, this is it. Law enforcement. Our justice system may not be the best, But I arrest the bad guy, get him off the street for the time being and assist the needy. If you dont want to do that.......then you could always go buy some underoos with an "S" on it.
In god we trust...all others keep your hands where I can see them.

And it's your "ASTHMA" that's keeping you from doing this job. Riiiiiiiiiiight.

I think when everyone looks back on this thread and sees who called horse**** first (me) they should follow with the appropriate rep. :D
