    Don't Laugh!

O.K. I am interested in becoming a police officer. What is the likelihood of a 36 year old, mother of two with limited work experience (homemaker for the last 13 years) getting into ANYBODY'S police force?!

    BWWWWWWAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAA

Sorry but when you said NOT to laugh....the smarty pants of the group just HAD to laugh :D

Now seriously....It can happen. A police job is a very competitive venture. You'll have lots and LOTS of competition. But go for it. You may have something that a department is looking for.

To be honest, it's gonna be tough. Most, if not all have a cut off of age 35 unless you can buy back some time somewhere else.

Tough, but not impossible. I had one in my academy class. She just happened to get hurt the most, so be careful!

Go for it! You might awaken qualities/ characteristics you have never imagined you carry them in you!

Most departments I know have an age limit of 35 but you never know. The nice thing about America (I am loving it!!), like Troooper said, the opportunities are out there!!! I moved here to the US a little while ago and thought: oh boy, I will never get into LE: english is my second language, I only have a Green Card, I do not have enough college credits etc... But I will start my academy soon and let me tell you... things can happen!
