    Hello from the Wild Wild West

    Hello Everyone!
    I just wanted to introduce myself and say Hi! I am 27 years old and I worked in a LE Agency in Europe for seven years. I moved to the US four years ago and just got accepted to the LE Academy in my home town! It is a great department and I am very excited to start my new job. So long... I will help myself and look around a litte bit!

    I will definitely do that! I went on a couple ride-alongs and I can already tell there are a lot of differences: i.e. We did not use numbered codes, we said over the air what was going on. Our uniformes looked like clown suits and our equipment was far not as advanced as it is here in the US. I am sure not every car has a laptop here but we worked with nothing. Once we patrolled a city and there was an area for about a square kilometer where the radio did not receive or send any signal. We caught a drug addict and I tried to radio out ...nothing... hello???... nada...
    The guy started to dance around like crazy and we were far away from our car and backup, too. We had to walk with this monkey for half a mile and that was baaad! Something could have happened and we had no chance to call for help.
    Another major point: We NEVER drove alone.
