    Long time lurker, first time poster!

    I'm currently in the hiring process with a few departments in Illinois, and I can say the information on these forums has been helpful many times. Thanks everyone, and I look forward to one day joining the ranks.

    I went back to my family's in Chicago a couple months back for a funeral. My 12 year old cousin has all my old Calvin and Hobbes books. She loves them as uch as I do, and takes WAY better care of them than I ever could. I read a couple while I was there and it damn near brought a tear to my eye. The end of that strip was truly the end of an era of great funnies. :(
