Hello, my name is precioustiger. I will be starting classes online this week for Crime Scene Technician. I know that most agencies want you to be a sworn officer. What is the min. & max. age that you can become a police officer?

There are a lot of places that hire civilian crime scene techs. I *think* Miami-Dade is one of them.

Most local agencies require you to be 21 to be hired and few have limits to max-age as long as you can do the job.

Keep in mind if you do go the LE route you'll be required to be a cop in a patrol car for at least 2 years. Larger agencies you'll have to be there even longer before you are competitive enough to get into crime scene units.
