Hey everyone, my goal of being a PO has been with me since I was a child. My father was the head of a department over here on the Jersey Shore, and I always looked up to him growing up.
I went to Boston College on a FBall scholarship and left with a bachelor's degree in Sociology as well as a bit of law classes here and there. For some reason BC doesn't have a CJ program so it was the closest thing I could get, besides I ended up loving the sociology classes so it was a win win for me. I've been out for two yrs and am currently painting lines on the roads. Not a glorious job, but the money is good and it teaches me every single day about humility, which I'm thankful for.
As of right now I sent in the app for NYPD, NJ Civil Service, and Transit. Being 24 I'm kinda eager to get my career rolling, and sites like these continues to highten my anticipation, motivation, and knowledge about this profession that I can't wait to be apart of. So thank you.

You should be good to go from what you say. Good luck!
You should check down South too. There are some great departments in the DC Metro area that are hiring and good to work for.
Fairfax County PD, Loudoun County SO, Arlington County PD, Alexandria City PD, in VA and Montgomery County PD in Maryland.
Just about all of VA is hiring and there are some great departments around Richmond and the shore as well as out West in the mountains.
When I went through Fairfax County PD's academy about half my class was from NY so you won't be a lonely Yankee in the South. :D~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The beatings will continue until morale improves.
