Some LEOs on another site had mentioned this one, quite a few that I actually somewhat trust their judgement, compared to the unwashed masses of another large Cygnus Media site who may, or may not, be in LE.
After reading the Ballad of LtJordan, I was amused enough to register and continue reading. That, and I see some of the usual suspects from a popular (?) DT forum, and another non-LE DT forum.
For those of you wondering, I am not a sworn officer, however over the past 12 years, I have worked with quite a few, and some of them were rather useful and credits to their department. Those that weren't, well, that's why there are supervisors for both security and police agencies, to yell and scream till those people square their head away.![]()
I currently own an IT solutions company, which specializes in IT training, IT security, and Open Source deployment. In English, I own a computer company that fixes PCs, shows the government and companies how to use Linux, and work computer security cases involving hacking, theft of data, unauthorized access, and perform security audits.
We're currently working on getting a security company that actually requires some training going here in southeastern cheesehead land, as the companies that work in this area only require that you pay 95 dollars to the state for your guard license, then allow you to roam freely. After seeing what was roaming around my streets with "security police" cruisers (with red and red, sirens, and God knows what else in those cars), I was suitably frightened and decided that may leading through example might help.
