Thanks for the Welcome. I am finding the forums quite interesting. So far all the officers I have interacted with have been great with personalities much like mine.

I keep fit so I am not too worried about the medical, or the Academy. I know the academy will be tough but I have been keeping myself in good shape. At first I was a little worried because I am 6'1" and 150lbs dripping wet. But since I started I have seen officers that are smaller than I am and I have read some great comments on this forum. Age is not really a concern, most people think I am in my early 30s still.

Thanks, I totally agree. I am going to be leaving a well paying software job to become a cop and I have no reservations about the rather large pay cut. My wife is a bit nervous, but that is to be expected since police work is a bit more dangerous than sitting in front of a computer, however police work is less dangerous than my other job of flying a helicopter...

Well I had the medical and am waiting for the results on the blood work. It turns out I shrunk an inch since high school am lost 3 pounds too 6'0" 147lbs. I am sure the weight will come back but I fear that inch in height is lost forever...
