    please help

i am new here and i dont know if this is the right forum for this but i need help. i have looked everywhere to try to do this on my own and i cant do it and the police here wont help me. let me start out with the story.
I live about an hour and a half away from my girlfriend, i decided thursday the 21st i would go see here. a dark blue chevy saburban drove down my road as i was leaving. i didnt think anything of it. then i arrived at my girlfriends and everywhere i would go i saw a blue chevy saburban. then later in the day right as it was getting dark he stopped being sly about following my and started following very close. he would mimic my every move, if i switched lanes he would switch lanes.everything. my girlfriend was hysterically crying and we decided to call 911. the police made a report and i dropped my girlfriend off. then i noticed on my way home, there was another blue saburban following me and it had the same license plate as the first one so it had to be the same one. i immediatly called the highway patrol and they said they would send omeone to intercept him and for me to pull over when they pulled him over.they never showed up. he followed me almost all of the way to my house and turned a different way. i was very scared and so i was gone almost all day friday. i arrived home at around midnight and went to sleep. i woke up this morning(saturday) to find that someone has keyed my explorer. i had light pointing on the car last night thinking he may do something to it and the light didnt stop him. my girlfriend is so afraid she wont leave her house now because she is afraid he may rape her or something. i dont know what to do and i was wondering if any officer here could run the license plate of the car and tell me where it was registered to, that and only that, because i just need to make sure my girlfriend is safe from this guy, i figure that if the car is regestered here then she lives and hour and a half away so she would be ok, but if it is regestered there then we need to contact a detective or something. if anyone can help, the license plate number is a missouri tag number ***************

    thank you for any help

First of all, please learn proper grammar and sentence structure. It hurt to read that. I'm not an LEO but I'll give you my .02 if you want it. It sounds like to me that your girlfriend has someone else interested and he wants you out of the way. Or she could have a pissed off brother, cousin, etc... Second it's really not a good idea to flash someone else's tag number around. Third, how can you prove the person in the Suburban is the one who keyed you vechicle? And lastly you are wasting you time trying to get a LEO here to run a plate check for you. Liability.
Did you report the vechicle being keyed to the police? It'll go a long way making you look more credible and less like a paranoid kid.

There isn't a cop in the country who wouldn't lose their job or at least face very serious discipline for running a tag and giving the info to someone on the Internet. Hire yourself a private detective who has legitimate commercial access to those databases to run it for you.

Sounds like you picked up a tail. Probably a jealous ex boyfriend or someone else who is competing with the girl. Dump her and dump your problems.

Sorry, but dump her? Thats the worst advice ever.

Get a report for the keyed car, telll the local police and I'm sure that they would have increased patrols around your house looking for the van.

If he wants to get rid of the problem that's all he has to do.

Your advice however is naive and unrealistic. Like the police will have nothing better to do than babysit his street looking for a "blue suburban." His story reeks of paranoia and there is no proof of a connection with his keyed car and somebody following him.

People need to solve their own problems because the police do not have the resources to intervene for every jealous ex-boyfriend and paranoid current boyfriends.

Grow up before you start criticising anyone around here.

the man following me is in his mid 50's, my girlfriend has no idea who he is, if my sentence stucture bothers you then dont reply, i cant prove that he did it, it just seems very likely.

If you didn't see him do it, then you're only guessing. There's been a few hundred people I think did crimes, but they're still out there because I couldn't prove it.

Why don't you try giving us some history that might explain why somone is following you and or your girlfriend.

    1. Previous relationships and duration from break-up.
    2. Past relationships of girlfriend and length of time since break-ups.
    3. Any criminal activity conducted by yourself or girlfriend.
    4. Any other pertinent information that could possibly be related.

Be generic in your responses regarding specific names, license plates, etc.

Then perhaps a consensus could be reached regarding your situation.

Of course you could just contact the local LE agency having jurisdiction, provide them with the license plate, make a report of the situation / suspicions, and wait for a response from the agency.

If you want people to take you serious then take yourself serious and work on communication. It's obvious you get all emotional over the slightest of things. Grow up, grow some balls, and handle YOUR problems yourself. Take the tag number, with pics of the damage to the police where you live and file an official report.
