Hello and welcome
A snout has told me he's got a set of nostrils, so go and get a W so we can spin his drum to see if he's got any monkey gear - The Sweeney.
You folks sure know how to make someone feel welcome. I'm in Fayetteville. Looks like there are quite a few from the Peach State in here.

I Made It!
After all the testing, waiting and more testing, this 42 yo bald man made it along with five other younger guys. I was told that 107 applied and took the initial test and after all the testing, they chose 6 of us. Makes me feel good to have been among so few to make it all the way. :D
Swearing in will be on Monday, 22 August at 0800. I am really looking forward to this.
Congratulations and Way to Go!
great, have fun in the academy.

Getting together with a buddy that is a tactical firearms instructor this weekend just to make sure I don't have any bad habits. Monday is swearing in and we run the EVOC course. The next week is Firearms training and then the academy.
What academy are you going to? Clayton County?

Yes, Clayton. It's nice that the department has their own academy.

There is no way I'm touching that one. I'm not going to post something stupid here and start out behind the eight ball!
On a better note, I noticed a plaque on the wall in the lobby of the academy that is the "Mike Gladden Memorial Instructor of the Year Award". Mike was a good friend of mine and I was excited to see the plaque and also to see that Tommy Stevens was the first recipient and Ed Collins received it about three or four years later. That brought back a lot of fond memories.
